Having achieved his goal of establishing himself as the undisputed “enfant terrible” of the Thai political scene, M.L. Nattakorn is now running for office as Governor of Bangkok, claiming “my advantages are youth, ideology and energy” (Post Motoring, Dec 19).
However, the interviewer evidently failed to ask the obvious follow-up question to the aspiring politician i.e. “What then is your political ideology?”
It seems to me that a lot of our recent political problems and those to come could have been lessened or avoided if journalists had not neglected this fundamental line of enquiry.
